About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Control Room Operator to join our team working on the Auckland City Rail Link (CRL) Project.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of workers, commuters, and the public. Based in the control room, you will be responsible for monitoring building systems, CCTV, and alarms, coordinating responses to incidents, and providing clear communication with on-the-ground officers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Monitor and operate control room systems including CCTV, alarms, and building management systems
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergencies
- Coordinate and support on-the-ground officers, contractors, and project stakeholders
- Maintain access control, issue passes, and deter unauthorised access across stations and project sites
- Prepare accurate incident reports, maintain logs, and provide clear communication at all times

- Collaborate with construction personnel, project managers, and external agencies
Mandatory Requirements:
To progress through the recruitment process, you must consent to and be able to satisfy pre-employment checks, including:
- Driver’s License, Credit Checks, Ministry of Justice Criminal History and Immigration checks.
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
- Ability to obtain and hold a current Certificate of Approval (COA)
- First Aid certification (preferred)
- Articulate and a comprehensive understanding of the written and spoken English language.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- Holds NZQA Level 2 & 3 National Certificate in Security (preferred)
- Previous control room, surveillance, or large-site security experience
- Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
- Flexible and available for a 24/7 roster, including short notice and emergency cover
- Professional, reliable, and committed to following procedures
- High standards of personal presentation and grooming
- Customer-focused with strong service delivery experience
- Works independently or as part of a team, with cultural awareness and respect for diversity
