STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 1:
Increase standards and capability within the security industry
Enabling a stronger, smarter, and more effective security industry
NZSA has two key goals here:
- Grow the skills levels of the industry to meet increasing risk complexity in the community and evolving needs and expectations of the market.
- Building a membership structure that allows for all companies to benefit from improved standards regardless of their size, location or sector.
Our action plan includes improving training programs and industry standards and liaising with Government on policies that impact standards and regulations. For our members we are revising our audit process and member levels to encourage corporate members to become accredited (audited) and meeting our highest standards.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 2:
Legislative and regulatory changes that support safety and industry growth
Advocating for an accountable, safe and thriving security industry
NZSA has two goals here:
- Strong advocacy with central government on policy changes to support our objectives around industry regulations and accountability.
- Advising on policy changes that encourage a strong pipeline of qualified talent and regulations that ensure workers are protected in all ways.
Our action plan includes submissions to the PSPLA, Police, Ministry of Justice, MBIE, and other government departments, and their relevant advisors. We are developing policy positions, advice and suggested safeguards and powers, and advocating that government procurement rules better recognise the NZSA accredited standards.
STRATEGIC OBJECTIVE 3:
A responsive NZSA that is the legitimate voice of the industry
Listening to, understanding, and promoting our industry and stakeholders
NZSA has two goals here:
- Listening intently to our industry and its stakeholders to ensure any issues and concerns are recognised and addressed.
- Ensuring our platforms, marketing and communications hit the mark in terms of content, tone, audiences and consistency.
Our action plan here includes polling our members, and through them their customers and staff, to ensure everyone is heard and recognised. We are also strengthening our marketing communications, website and associated platforms to better disseminate our point-of-view and programmes and that we are reaching as broad an audience of stakeholders and the wider community as possible.
