Starting with an introduction and brief outline of one of the first UK city CCTV systems installed in the early 1990’s in Newcastle progressing onto the award winning Edinburgh City in View project. Which brought together the Scottish capitals citywide CCTV scheme, the Scottish Parliament and six surrounding town centre systems, briefly looking at the challenges of different technologies and the various stakeholders each with their own agendas, a lesson reinforced working on Safe City Kiev in Ukraine trying to define exactly what a safe city is to the different stakeholder.
Finally, moving onto how a safe city should function in 2016.

Peter is a member of the Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board (SSAIB) a UKAS accredited Certification Body, and has represented them on the British Standards Institute (BSI) technical committee responsible for drafting European CCTV Standards. In addition, he is a member of the Security Institute, ASIS and the author of a number of security articles
