    Patrol Officer of the Year Award 2017

    This award recognises excellence, commitment and professionalism within the “patrolling” sector of the industry, including service to customers and outstanding acts.

    The award will be presented to the individual that has gone beyond what could have been expected of them in providing a level of service that exceeds the customers and/or managers expectations.

    • Nominations must include an endorsement/letter of support from the individuals employer and/or customer
    • Nominations must include a statement outlining the outstanding customer service or outstanding act performed by the individual. The statement should include:
      i) Demonstrated evidence of the individuals customer service
      ii) Evidence of an incident or occasion where the individual has performed an outstanding act or demonstrated bravery beyond the call of duty
    • Nominators must provide names and contacts of two referees to allow for further clarification if required.

    The act/acts should have taken place between 1 July 2015 and 30 June 2016 in the year prior to the Awards evening.

    Security Officers awarded the NZSA Certificate of Merit during the qualifying period (1 July 2016 – 30 June 2017) will automatically be given consideration.

    Note: The nominee must be the holder of a current Security Guard Licence or Certificate of Approval, if legally required to hold one. Security officers employed in positions not legally requiring a Certificate of Approval may be nominated, provided they complete a signed authority for NZSA to obtain a criminal history check via the Department for Courts.

    Nominations should include a description of why the individual(s) has the attributes and professional experience that would make them a deserving recipient of the award.

  • An independent panel of judges, including representatives of the NZSA Board, will convene to select a winner. The judges’ decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into. The winner will be announced at the NZSA-The Skills Organisation Awards Dinner held at Te Papa (National Museum of New Zealand) Wellington, Friday 25 August 2017
