Armed robbery victim had owned Ngaruawahia dairy for only four months

A Ngaruawahia dairy owner retreated to protect his family when three men stormed into his shop armed with a pistol, a golf club, and another blunt object.

The owner of Waingaro Dairy, who only wanted to be referred to by his surname, Badel, had only been running his store for four months when he became the victim of the armed robbery this week.

Badel was in the shop at 4.30pm on Tuesday when three masked offenders entered the store carrying assorted weapons.

The robbers were saying things such as “come on, come on” and “hurry up” when they stormed into the shop, Badel said.

Police are requesting assistance from members of the public who may have any information relating to the incident.

People with information are asked to contact Huntly Police on 07 828 7560 or give information anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
